Diskjokke is the stage name of Joachim Dyrdahl, a Norwegian DJ and producer from the town of Svelvik, southwest of Oslo. A classically trained violinist, he became interested in electronic music at 15 after discovering Olle Abstract's radio show. He studied mathematics in Trondheim before relocating to Oslo to focus on music full-time. Prins Thomas released his early tracks on Full Pupp, and he became a resident DJ alongside Rune Lindbæk, Lindstrøm, Prins Thomas and Todd Terje at Oslo's Sunkissed club night. His debut album "Staying In" was released on Smalltown Supersound in 2007, followed by "En Fin Tid" (2010) and "Sagara" (2011), the latter recorded with Gamelan musicians in Indonesia on commission from Norway's Øya Festival. He has remixed artists including David Lynch, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Foals, Lykke Li and Bloc Party. He shares a studio with Vinny Villbass in Oslo.
